The Valuation Division grew into importance with the
enactment of the Land Acquisition Act in 1973 together
with development in the field of real estate.
Other duties were entrusted to the Valuation Division
which included, inter alia: With the gradual
Preparation and maintenance of Valuation List for all expansion of the
Municipal Councils;
Valuation of properties which Local Authorities sell, Office,
acquire, lease or rent; Government
Valuation of properties for Registration Dues, uplifted the status
Succession and Donation Duty; of the Office in the
Assessment of compensation under Land year 2001 from a
Acquisition Act; Division to that of
Determination of Rent of Government Lands;
Advice to Government on all matters relating to the a Department.
