    ​Government Valuers are called upon to act as expert witness before various instances namely Assessment Review Committee, Board of Assessment, Valuation Tribunal, Fair Rent Tribunal, other Courts and Tribunals.  The services of the Department to act as expert witness is also sought in cases of arbitration.
    ​The overriding duty as an expert witness is to the tribunal and court.  When a Government Valuer act as expert witness, his duty is to set out the facts fully and give truthful, impartial and independent opinions, covering all relevant matters.​
